Screening of the film The South with filmmaker Andrea Ramolo

April 6, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Head to the Mayfair Theatre on Saturday April 6 for a day with Toronto-based singer-songwriter-producer-filmmaker Andrea Ramolo.

From 10:00-12:00 you can watch a live broadcasting of the Canadian Spaces folk/roots show on CKCU/YouTube with hosts Carolyn Sutherland and Chris White, featuring performances by musical guests and Andrea Ramolo.  This event is open to all ages and is free of charge.

This will be followed by a screening of Ramolo’s award-winning short film ‘The South’, and Q&A session with CKCU host Chris White from 12:30-2:30 pm.  Check out the Trailer.

“Legends of spider bites among peasants, musicians as healers, and dance as the cure bring Italian-Canadian recording artist Andrea Ramolo to the south of Italy to explore her roots and find alternate ways to heal by way of ancestral knowledge. During a time when we need healing the most, why not turn to the past and dance and sing until we feel no more pain?”

Tickets for the film screening are $10 plus HST in advance and $15 at the door.  Doors open at 12:00.

Admission to the film screening is free for those who attend Andrea’s concert at the First Unitarian Congregation of Ottawa (30 Cleary Ave.) on Friday, April 5 at 7:00 pm, presented by Harmony Concert.  Tickets and information here.
